Melting Point Art Festival

An art festival featuring artists throughout the community to raise funds to donate towards an organization assisting Immigration with legal help during these hard times in the U.S.
It will feature photography, illustrations, 3D art work, displays, and films.
The goal of this fundraiser will be $1,000 towards the Immigrant Defense Project.We are open for submissions until May 7th!!

MISSION STATEMENTTO BE AN ARTIST IS TO BE POLITICAL.
THERE IS NO EXCUSE OF BEING SILENT WHEN CONSTANTLY BEING BOMBARDED WITH PREJUDICE AND INJUSTICE. AS INTERPRETERS OF THE HUMAN CONDITION, WE ARE GIVEN UNDERSTAndING.
THEREFORE HOW CAN WE NOT EMPATHIZE WITH THE STATES OF THE WORLD.
HOW CAN YOU BITE YOUR TONGUE WHEN SOMEONE ELSE IS SHOUTING FOR HELP. DOES YOUR HEART NOT MOURN?NO URGENCY TO ACT IS A LUXURY THAT OUR FELLOW PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE. IT IS EASIER TO IGNORE AND WAIT FOR THE DUST TO SETTLE TO SEE WHO IS LEFT BEHIND. UNTIL YOUR
BROTHER. SISTER. MOTHER. FATHER. FRIEND. SIGNIFICANT OTHER. NEIGHBOR. COWORKER. CLASSMATE
IS TRAMPLED ON WHILE YOU LOOK AWAY.
we PERCEIVE AND REACT THROUGH UNCERTAINTY. THE BOLDNESS INSPIRED BY OUR ADMIRATION FOR HUMANITY.
ALL OF HUMANITY.
WE ARE ALL CONNECTED BY THE FACT WE LIVE IN THE SAME DIMENSION. PERCEIVING EACHOTHER EVERYDAY. EVERY CENTIMETER OF OUR CHARACTER AND READ INTO EVERY LETTER OF EVERY WORD WE SPEAK.
WE EXPRESS OURSELVES TO LEAVE PROOF THAT WE TOO EXIST.
We scream out in determination to represent ourselves and those like us that do not have the capability.
the dreams we were promised at infancy will not be taken from us or others
because a supposed higher power wishes to take it. out of fear of our potential.
our grip is unyielding.
hunger for that promise sustains our strength.

SUBMISSION INFO.

We are looking for artists with a passion for creativity as a way of activism.

As an artist you shine brightest when speaking your truth.
In our gallery we'd like to bring together individuals from different strokes of life, to show the beauty in Unity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Please submit a maximum of 4 pieces of work to be displayed.

  • Minimum size of one art piece is 11x18 inches.

  • FRAMING:

  • All Framed artwork will have 50 square inches for display on wall.

  • If frames exceed 5 pounds, please have hooks on the back of frame. Frames can not exceed 10 pounds.

  • Recommended framing: 13x19 ( will provide resources for acquiring frames).

  • DISPLAYS:

  • Displays will have a space of 6x6 ft.

  • Displays must be transportable.

  • No hazardous material. ex: broken shards, flames, live plants, food, and anything perishable.

We wish to tell the world your stories .

Filmmaking is onscreen of the most beautiful art forms.
It is a culmination of skills, working together in unison to let the world know the story of who you are.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 minutes in length.

  • Must Have Credits.

  • Film Synopsis/Logline

  • Must be an MP4 or MOV. File

  • 2-channel Audio.

  • Subtitles (can be added after submission process.)

Represent what you and your community are passionate about.

Vendors are an important part of any community, through reliable merchandise to casual customer conversations.
We would love to have vendors to help support the cause and build an even stronger community within our events .

REQUIREMENTS

  • We will not be allowing Food Vendors.

  • Products must be able to withstand room temperatures.

  • No Dangerous Objects.

  • Materials must be transportable.

  • All vendors will receive 100% of commission.

  • We will provide a 6 ft ( 30x72 inches) foldable table to display products per vendor.

Melting Point Art Festival is a fundraising event motivated to gathering $1,000 towards the Immigrant Defense Project.
This organization fights for the justice and rights of all immigrants.
Our goal is to unite the community through a display of artists and vendors who also support the cause. There is power in community and numbers!

All ticket sales will go directly go to the Immigrant Defense Project. The goal of this event is to raise awareness, support, and unity within the community. Artistry has always been political. Therefore, we will use our resources to help the families struggling in these hard times, in any way possible.
